Before diamonds. Before gold. Before any of it — humans adorned themselves to communicate. To say: this is who I am. This is who I love. This is who I carry with me.
Somewhere along the way, we forgot that. Jewelry became fast. Disposable. Something you buy because it's trending, not because it means something.
Zuna is a return to that meaning.
Who we are
Zuna is a Canadian jewelry brand founded by Zehra — a photographer who has always believed that the most beautiful things in life are the ones that tell a story.
Every piece in our first collection, Held By Her, is named after a real woman. A mother, a sister, a friend, the one who showed up at any hour, the one who walked through fire and came out with her grace still whole.
This is not fast fashion. This is jewelry that was made to be worn close — because the women who hold us deserve to be carried with us always.
How it's made
Every Zuna piece is handcrafted by artisans using Kundan — one of the oldest jewelry making traditions in South Asia, over 2,500 years old.
Kundan is the art of setting stones entirely by hand, pressing each one into place with gold foil. No machines. No shortcuts. Every piece entirely unique.
These are designs that have been loved for generations. We brought them here, to Canada, for you.
Why we exist
Zuna was built by a family. Conceived by Zehra, supported by her sisters, Maryam & Amnah every step of the way.
We believe jewelry should mean something. We believe the women in your life deserve to be honoured. And we believe that craft, heritage and story should never be forgotten.
